I'm a homeschooling mom of 2 great kids. I've been married to my wonderful husband since 1997. I love to crochet, knit, and digi scrap. So, you never know what I might post about!

Whew, I got my submission LO uploaded and entered into the contest 26 1/2 hours before the deadline. So, now I'll post the one I entered into the contest. I'll get around to posting the others soon. I call this "What a Girl."
As I mentioned yesterday, I used Amy Fennell's Allure kit, and the font was Pea Amy. This picture is one that I took to scrap in a quickpage freebie that I got a little while back, but now I can't find the quickpage, so I just used the pic in this LO instead. I read a tutorial on that photo slicing technique quite a while ago, but this is the first time I've actually used it in a LO. I think it came our really well, if I do say so myself. Anyway, my best regards to all the other competitors in the Supreme Team contest. I'll be back tomorrow to show you my other LOs with Amy's beautiful kit.
Here's a passage for you:
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34-35
Since I haven't used this blog in so long, I just got the idea to convert it into a scrapping blog! About 2 years ago (has it really been that long??), maybe a year and a half, I got into digital scrapbooking. I dunno why, but I never thought before to devote a blog to it like so many others have. I guess I didn't think about doing it because I don't do any design work, so I don't have any freebies to give away. There are at least a few digi scrappers who put lists on their blogs of freebies other people have up on their blogs, though. And there's at least one (probably many more) who just post the pages they create to their blogs. So, that's what I'm going to do. I can't really see myself doing any designing, but I could at least post my layouts. Right now I'm competing to be on the Supreme Team at GDS!! I've never been on a CT or anything of that sort, so I'm pretty excited and nervous! Layouts are due tomorrow night at midnight (Monday morning at midnight, technically) and I've made 2 LOs so far that I'm not satisfied with, and I'm currently working on a third. There's just one or 2 more things I want to do before I'm done with it, but my scrapping stuff is on the desktop computer ("the big computer) and my LO is on my laptop. That's not normally a problem...in fact, that's how I usually work. But we had a storm a week ago that fried our network card among other things, and with Buddy working all the time, we just got a new network card a couple of days ago. He finally got the network networking yesterday, but it's down again today. He's at work, but told me to make sure the firewall is turned off on the big comp. I tried to do that, but now the mouse isn't working! I thought it needed its batteries recharged, but now they're all charged up and the mouse is still dead. *sigh* So...hopefully he can get the network talking again tonight or tomorrow and I can get my page finished and submitted by the deadline! The first LO I made is one I like a lot, but it's got a lot of white space, so it doesn't really show off the kit very well, which is kinda the whole point of a Supreme Team. The second LO I made had lots of stuff from the kit, but it was pretty much a garbled mess. So, with this third LO, I think I've found the right balance of showing off the kit and making it look good. I always have a hard time when I'm making LOs for challenges (basically when I'm making LOs for other people), so I dunno how well I'll do in this competition, but it's fun so far and I've already got 3 new LOs out of it and a beautiful kit! The kit we're using is Amyleigh Fennell's Allure Kit. Here's a preview of it:
I'll post my LOs after I've saved them as .jpgs (they're still in layers) and submitted my fave one to the gallery. I must admit, after my second page ended up such a mess, I did look through the gallery for some inspiration for my third attempt, but I think that what I came up with is unique from other LOs already posted. I know the techniques I used aren't anything new, but they at least haven't been used by others in this contest. This post is probably (hopefully) longer than future posts, but I did want to mention one more thing. Beckie (lillypug34) made a blinkie for us GDS Supreme Team contestants and it's just too cute! Here it is:
Isn't that great?? Ok, I'm gonna go for now. Bear with me while I convert this to a scrapping (and maybe crochet/knitting, too) blog. I have a Xanga for yarn arts, but I really only made it so I could see someone else's Xanga. Anyway, maybe I'll get some traffic in here for a change, especially if I actually post in here for a change!! LOL Before I leave, though, here's a little passage for you:
See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. Hebrews 3:12-14
