I'm a homeschooling mom of 2 great kids. I've been married to my wonderful husband since 1997. I love to crochet, knit, and digi scrap. So, you never know what I might post about!

Well, it was a pretty good birthday, especially for the big 3-0. We had the party yesterday and I hung out with my mom all day. My sister was here and we hung out, too, but she is sick, so she was pretty quiet. My in-laws were here, but they've been living in their camper for nearly a month because they had a major water leak in their house while they were out of town, so they were kinda bummed out and didn't stay long. My parents stayed overnight in a hotel, so they came by again today for about an hour before driving back home. The garage door is so great! It's metal, so it won't be rotting anytime soon! Lol It goes up and down so easily now, compared to the fights I used to have with the old one. H got some dress-up clothes from my parents so now she can dress up like a princess. We had a Disney Princesses party for her and B and I bought her a Belle doll...made by Mattel, but not quite as shapely as Barbie. Of course, she hasn't had her clothes off yet, so I may change my mind on that later. So, now my baby is 5. Seems like about time to have another! Seriously, though, B and I had decided years ago that we'd have another when she's 5, but we might have to put it off a couple of years. We want to get caught up on all our bills (which we did this month!) and get enough money in the bank to afford a down payment on a new house. That's going to take a few years just to do that, because we have $0 in our savings account. He'll get his Paramedic's license in 2 years (May '05), so we probably won't have another baby 'till then anyway.
Yes, it was a pretty good birthday until my parents emailed me that they'd gotten home fine, but that when they got there, they found that their dog had died while they were gone. She was a good (ok, sometimes pretty dumb) dog. She was technically supposed to be my little sister's dog. T was probably about 5...maybe as old as 10 when Jazz was born. So, Jazz was about 15 years old, give or take a few. She was a sheltie. Mom raised and showed shelties for a while, but in the end just kept them as pets. Mom said a few weeks ago that when Jazz died, she was going to be through with animals. I guess we'll see...Mom's only 52 (will be in 2 weeks and 4 days), so hopefully she has plenty of time to change her mind. This is turning out to be a pretty sad summer.
