Aren't these just the cutest dogs ever? Cynthia is the lady who hooked us up with our wonderful Huey. We've never met her, but have talked to her on the phone a few times. We keep looking at this page and thinking about fostering another, but we're still in a bit of an adjustment phase with Huey, so I guess we're going to hold off a little longer. Yesterday, Huey slipped his head out of his collar while we were on our morning walk. Between every two houses, he went to say hi to the dogs in the yards. Which is a good thing, since by doing that he only went 4 houses down before I caught him and got his collar back on...one notch tighter this time. He was mad at us today, kept sleeping in whichever room we weren't in. I think it was mainly because we had to wash his ears out today. But it may also have had to do with me putting his collar back on him yesterday after his taste of freedom. Or maybe it was because we took him to the pet store with us yesterday, then came home and dropped him off so we could go to the grocery store. Whichever it was, he was over it at dinnertime. Haha! Such a chowhound....

Huey's still doing great. He loves going for walks in the morning and evening. Actually, he'd rather just walk all day, I think. He's such a sweety. He seems to be getting more comfortable with us. He'll get up on the couch with us sometimes (we told him it was ok), but he still seems to think he's not really supposed to be there and has trouble laying down and really relaxing. The guinea pigs started fighting just a few minutes ago and Huey bayed at them. It was really kinda cute. At least it wasn't the loud bark he gave the strange cat that was on our windowsill a few nights ago. He also loves meeting new dogs. He's very persistent once he spies someone he'd like to meet and always very gentle and wiggly as he says hi. Well, he just ran through the room carrying one of H's stuffed animals and ran out the door with it. I guess we need to get him some stuffed animals of his own. And as I was typing that, he ran through with another. I would say he's just playing April Fool's jokes on us, except that he did it for the first time yesterday. Hmm...he has been acting a little jealous of H, I think because she was gone when he came to live with us and hasn't figured out that she outranks him in the pack. So, I don't know if he likes stuffed animals, or if he's just wanting hers. I think we'll get him one or two either way. He was playing with his rawhide stick earlier. Trying to play tag with it...but he wouldn't play tag with me. I dunno, wierd dog. But he's cute. Well, I'd better go set up the VCR so I can record American Idol for B. He's in class tonight, so I get recording duties.
