I'm a homeschooling mom of 2 great kids. I've been married to my wonderful husband since 1997. I love to crochet, knit, and digi scrap. So, you never know what I might post about!

Hey, is anyone out there reading this stuff? B got an email today from the prof he's hoping to get. He had emailed her on the 18th when he found out all the classes were full, wondering if she had any suggestions, or if he could get into a full class. In her email she said he could try going through Continuing Ed. Gee, thanks, Prof. A little slow on the email there. Well, at least she didn't wait 'till after CE registration to reply. I did an "Indian" bead necklace craft with H yesterday, and about 5 minutes after it was dry, she broke one of the felt pieces that was holding one of the feathers on. Oh, well. It wasn't a masterpiece or an heirloom. Speaking of "heir" our phonics lesson today was over the long "a" sound as spelled with ay, ey, ei, and eigh. I know, we covered a lot of ground. So, I've got plenty of material for words of the day 'till the next phonics lesson on Tues. I'll probably go over them even more than usual, since those last 2 are so strange. I'll have to do Listening with her tomorrow, as well as handwriting practice. We're working on "e" and "s" this week, so she'll need more practice on them than she did on most of the other letters we've done.

Ok, panic is over for now. B talked to the chair of the EMS program and she said he can take the classes as Continuing Education. They won't count toward his degree until he has credits at ACC, but they'll at least prepare him for the certification, and once he takes a class at ACC they'll roll over to credits. So, on Dec 2 he'll be on the phone at 5 am trying to register again. The reason the credit classes were full already was because a class of firefighters finished their firefighting courses last semester and now have to take their EMS courses (you have to be a firefighter and an EMT to get a job as a firefighter). So, that's why returning students had filled up the first 2 classes of a program. That and there are only 3 sections with 12 seats each. Under CE there are only 3 sections of 10 seats each, but he's hoping to get in early enough so that it's not full, and maybe the firefighters are all finished registering anyway.

Ack! All sections for both of B's classes are full!! ARG!! These are the first 2 classes in the program! The only people that registered before him are returning students! Why are all these returning students taking the first 2 classes in this program?! Well, I guess now all we can do is wait to see if someone drops them. You have to take these 2 classes together, so if someone drops one, they have to drop both. How ultimately frustrating! I really hope he doesn't have to wait 'till next Fall to start this stuff. We're really looking forward to the extra money that the job pays...the one that he can get after he takes these first 2 classes. Arg, arg, arg!

Finished the bereavement blanket. It's in the dryer blocking itself now. I have to call and register B for classes in the morning, then call Stephanie and find out where to drop the blankets off, then go with H to co-op, and drop the blankets off on my way home. Ahh, the dryer just stopped. Now I can see how the blocking turned out, and go to sleep!
