I'm a homeschooling mom of 2 great kids. I've been married to my wonderful husband since 1997. I love to crochet, knit, and digi scrap. So, you never know what I might post about!
Thursday, November 14, 2002 Dru said, "... however you are currently living, whatever priviliges you currently enjoy, you live that way and enjoy those priviliges because someone else suffered for them. You might think of it this way: whenever you find a "bargain" in today's exchange economy, be it a pair of shoes, or low prices at the gas pump, it is only a bargain because someone ELSE has paid dearly for it." I know she was talking about a completely different subject, but when I read that, it just totally reminded me of Jesus' work on the tree. Everything I have today is all because of his atoning death. Praise the Lord!
We did a bunch of stuff today...we went to ACC to price books for B's classes (which reminds me I need to email Mom and let her know how much they'll be), we went to Petco and got hay, food, and an excercise ball for Henry, and we went to Wal-Mart for a few things. H had her math lesson this morning, but I forgot to do listening with her, so we'll have to do that tomorrow. Oh, one of the things we got at Wal-Mart was white yarn, so I can finish the bereavement blanket. And I picked up a couple of new patterns. That's about all the news for today!

Wow, not much happened today. We didn't make it to the park like I'd planned. I was too sleepy this morning, and it was too cold outside. H woke me up and wanted to play in the backyard first thing this morning. I let her go and was hit by an arctic blast as I opened the door. I figured that would be her outside time for the day. She didn't stay out there but about 1/2 an hour, though. She found a brown caterpillar-looking worm yesterday evening and it became her best friend. When she went out this morning it was gone. After she went to bed last night, I realized I should have had her look at it through the microscope we have from Connections. So, I was hoping it would still be there this morning. Oh, well, I guess we'll have to find another bug to look at instead. That girl loves bugs. She likes to share her food with the ants sometimes. *sigh* She even used to like spiders...'till she saw her daddy smash one on the wall once. Now she wants to kill all spiders.
I finished another afgan last night. It's one my mil started a decade or more ago, and put away and never finished. When I started crocheting she took it out and started working on it some, but now that she's blind, she gave it to me to finish. It's 70s orange, green and yellow. Or is that Sunset, Avacado, and Gold (Maise?)? Anyway, I'll be putting it in the auction during the family reunion. She's kinda the family matriarch, so surely someone will buy it when they know that she made it. She gave me another one that she'd started way back when and never finished, too. It's a ripple pattern white, pink, baby blue, and a varigated white, pink, and blue. I'll keep that one for the child we plan on having some day. After I wash it. I don't know what's on it, or how it got so dirty, but it's nasty. The orange, green, yellow one was the same way. My hands feel dirty after I've been working on it a while. And hopefully soon we can get to the store and buy some more white so I can finish the bereavement blanket I started and get it and the red, white and blue one to The Linus Connection so they can donate them. I've just got so many projects I want to do and not enough thread or money to buy thread for any of them. But things are still looking up. Praise God for putting us in the right places at the right times lately. Doh, I forgot to mention that B got his Healthcare Provider CPR certificate, so now he can take the classes at ACC, and apply for the job after this semester's over. Moving right along!

Ugh, I think I may be sick: KRT Wire | 11/08/2002 | Chevy marketing campaign reaches out to Christian consumers. And especially this: "In June, Betz's team in Atlanta noted potential customers' strong response to Chevrolet promotions at an amusement park in Charlotte, N.C. About 8,000 people were drawn to the park's amphitheater for an evangelical music festival.
These were young families with disposable income, a fact that made them ideal Chevy customers. Clearly, the way to catch their eye was through their faith, Betz said." That's the slimiest thing I've read in a long time. Good thing I already don't like Chevy, I guess.
